PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS AND REPENTANCE Bible  Reading: Psalm 51vs1-3: Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2  Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3  For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. The word of God says, " For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). This is the sin we inherited from Adam, our forefather. However, after you have affected Jesus as your Saviour, if by accident you do wrong or slip into certain sins, if you ask for pardon,the Lord will forgive you.(1st John 1vs1:8-10).It is a good thing to examine ourselves at all times and to confess our sin to our creator,so that sins will not constitute hindrances to our prayers (Proverbs 28:13).
